A federal judge blocked Connecticut's ban on new "convertible pistol" sales hours before it was set to take effect on Wednesday.
Judge Kari Dooley issued a preliminary injunction and said Glock and other plaintiffs “are likely to succeed on the merits of their second amendment challenge.”
Lawyers for Glock had argued that the law was vague and it was not clear if their handguns even qualified for the ban.
Pistols outfitted with the device can fire up to 1,000 rounds per minute.
In a post on X, Senate President Martin Looney and Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff said "a switch turns a handgun into a machine gun. That's not a Second Amendment right."
The pair also said they would countinue to fight in court to protect communities and police officers safe from dangerous and deadly overpowered firearms
