Kids in Fairfield are sharing the love for their town ahead of Valentine’s Day.
This is all part of the third annual Love Local Hearts Program in Fairfield.
Students from kindergarten through fifth grade have decorated more than 700 hearts that are on display in participating businesses’ windows around town through Friday, Feb. 27.
It’s a chance for kids to show how much they love their town, and it also supports local businesses in the winter when they may not see as much foot traffic.
The idea started with the Town of Fairfield’s Office of Community and Economic Development.
“We always try to do things in town to help support our buy local initiatives, keep dollars in Fairfield, and support our local mom-and-pop businesses,” said Mary Alice Limperopulos with Fairfield Community and Economic Development.
Almost 20 businesses are participating, and nearly 750 hearts have been collected.
