The Southwest Community Health Center has received a generous state grant to build a new location in Bridgeport.
The center was the recipient of a $900,000 grant that will be used to build a full service health center on the second floor of the new Wakeman Boys and Girls Club on Madison Avenue.
The over 9,000-square-foot center will provide health care to patients of all ages.
"When we open, we will have dental, we will have behavioral health, we will have full capacity family practice services. We anticipate serving a large part of this community. We will provide services to everyone regardless of their need to pay," says Mollie Melbourne, CEO of the center.
The new center is expected to open this fall.
