A busy night for SpaceX turned into a show for some local skywatchers.

The company launched two Falcon 9 rockets from opposite coasts Saturday night just 38 minutes apart, with some News 12 viewers reporting seeing the flying object streak across the sky.

The first lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 9:12 p.m. ET, carrying the Globalstar 2-R Launch 1 mission to low-Earth orbit.

At 9:50 p.m. ET, another Falcon 9 launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, carrying the USSF-366 mission.

The Florida launch was the 14th flight for that rocket's first-stage booster. After separating from the second stage, the booster returned to Cape Canaveral and landed at Landing Zone 40.

The booster used for the California launch was making its 18th flight. Following stage separation, it landed on the SpaceX 'Of Course I Still Love You' droneship in the Pacific Ocean.
