The Connecticut Department of Transportation is warning drivers to have a plan to get home safely on Sunday.
Officials urged residents to think ahead before heading out, especially if they plan to attend gatherings or celebrations.
The department recommends using a designated driver, public transportation or a rideshare service.
Drivers are also reminded never to drive impaired.
Officials say impairment is not limited to alcohol. Cannabis, medications and other drugs can also affect driving ability.
