About 1 to 2 inches of fresh snow fell Wednesday in Bridgeport on top of the nearly 2 feet from the blizzard. Schools are closed, but some people still had to go to work.
A familiar sight: shoveling snow and cleaning off cars. That's what people in Bridgeport were doing Wednesday.
Mayor Joe Ganim said Wednesday that the alternative side parking ban was lifted.
Bridgeport and other cities and towns across the state are facing a salt shortage to treat roads. Ganim says city crews have been clearing the 20 inches of snow from the blizzard. He says they are trying to keep up.
"I got the calls. My apologies if your road hasn't been hit or isn't where you want it to be. We are inundated," Ganim said.
Sidewalk plows cleared this latest snow that rolled in Wednesday morning at the Bridgeport Bus Terminal.
"You getting tired of the snow?" "Oh yeah. Been tired of it. But it's New England and you expect that. Ain't nothing we can do about it," said Farris Cannon of Stratford. The mayor says he has offered to help Providence, Rhode Island, which got up to 48 inches of snow — but not before taking care of Bridgeport first.
