The new Bassick High School in Bridgeport may be the city's most expensive school ever built, but it's raising concerns about parking in the South End.
Residents say there's already a shortage of parking in the area and fear the school will make it worse.
City officials say the campus was designed to reduce congestion and are holding a public meeting to address the issue.
"The new Bassick High School is about to open and the people that live in the surrounding area are very, very concerned about the amount of traffic that's going to be happening now," said Jorge Cruz. "It's going to be life changing and people are concerned, and this is why we are having this meeting so please come out, ask the questions, be involved, be engaged."
School and city officials, including Police Chief Roderick Porter, will attend the meeting on Tuesday. It's scheduled for 6 p.m. at Cathedral of Praise on Gregory Street.
