FORECAST: Pleasant summer weather will continue over the next couple of days before things heat up again next week. Lower humidity will make it feel very comfortable to slightly cool the next two nights. Additionally, the sky has cleared up more, and this trend holds into the weekend. The air quality has also improved. One thing we are now lacking is rain, and chances remain very slim, even through next week. Southwest Fairfield County has abnormally dry conditions, and this is not a drought yet, but if we stay very dry for a while, this could escalate. There is a risk of some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday to Wednesday of next week with a frontal passage. The heat comes back starting Sunday, and highs next week will climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s - but it will feel hotter with the increase in humidity from about Monday on.
NIGHT SKY:
The full moon for the month of August will be Friday night into early Saturday.
Starting this weekend, you may notice two bright planets getting closer in the pre-dawn sky - this is Jupiter and Venus. Over the next few days, they will get closer and closer, and they will appear almost next to each other by Monday and Tuesday morning before they separate.
The Perseid Meteor Shower peaks early next week, too, so you may see a few shooting starts over the next several nights.
